Lots of Love Jenny (2023), a print-focused mixed media piece, uses 54 pronto plate prints, all created from family photos from my personal archive. The arrangement of the prints cross chronological boundaries to allow the view to understand a family tree from a new perspective. During my time at DIS Copenhagen, I took the course “Designing Communication Campaigns.” I was tasked with creating a lifestyle commercial, in which this was the final product. In my Human-Computer Interaction course, I was tasked with creating a high-fidelity prototype for a potential social media platform. The end product, Greatfully, imagined a timed-notification feature where users would be prompted to post things they are grateful for that day.Surroundings— A Portal (2021), is a 30-minute documentary style film exploring individuals’ relationships with their faith. This film served as the final for my Introduction to the Moving Image course. In my printmaking capstone, we engaged in a 6-week lexicon print-exchange project, where we would add a new additions to a set of 7 monoprints using a limited set of icons. These sets would then be passed on to a different student and the process would repeat.Three Clicks and I’m Home (2022) is a mixed media artists book, combining monoprinting and collage. Each of the six prints is a depiction of a place I have considered home, and the collage brings a physical representation of the sentimentality I connect with each place. The prints are arranged in chronological order as a blizzard pocket book.During my time at DIS Copenhagen I had the opportunity to experiment with eco-printing, which is a print-making method that depends on the color given off by natural materials such as leafs, turmeric, flower petals, and onion skins. In Conjunction (2022) is a hand-made volvelle artist's book depicting the various parts of an astrology chart. I collected images across centuries from different cultures which depicted the different astrological signs, images of characteristics associated with each aspect, and used these
images to create 31 collages—one for each modality, element, house, and sign, allowing the viewer to investigate the images and ponder how astrological representations in art and media have changed over time.
